Convivium in the Underworld - Gods of Olympus

Sorry for the sudden inactivity guys, but many things happened during these few days, but I will tell you everything about it in the future.

Meanwhile, I come with another Greek piece.

These four attractive women are, from left to right: Hecate, Lamia, Empusa and Mormo. They're goddesses of the underworld and they are very feared for their terrible powers.

Hecate is the goddess of witchcraft and necromancy. She is the daughter of the titans Perses (titan of destruction) and Asteria (titaness of oracles).

Hecate knows many types of herbs and how to use their poisonous and magic powers.

She is one of the most powerful and famous deities of the Underworld, so she really is something, but I wanted to keep her design simple and don't overdo it much, because the other ones are already pretty detailed designwise.

The serpent lady beside Hecate is Lamia, a child-eating monster. 

She had a very tragic past: she was one of Zeus' many mistresses which, of course, caused Hera to be very jealous. Hera made her kill her sons and turned her into a terrible snake-like monster, who constantly felt the need of eating children.

Another version tells that Hera stole Lamia's children, causing her to be overcome by madness. That's why I included in her design some scars on her face, as if she ripped her skin off from despair.

The lady near Lamia is called Empusa, she is a monster with flaming hair and a terrible hunger for men. Her name also means "one footed" because she is said to have a donkey leg and a brass prosthetic one.

I didn't want to make her too ugly, but actually pretty young with a transgressive look.

The last one on the right is the evil spirit Mormo. She is a vampiric creature who is said to feast with the flesh of bad children.

Her figure is mostly known in Greek folklore; whenever a child was naughty, his mother told him that the evil Mormo would've eaten him.

These girls are not the nicest people in the Underworld, but surely know how to have a good time together. I don't think their dialogues consist in discussing the latest trends, lipsticks and dresses, but more like what's the best way to skin someone alive, the best herbs to use while cooking humans, etc. You know, the truly fun stuff! XD

This is one of the many little scens I planned for my mythology-related drawings. More will come and with many new characters. ^_^
