So happy. Apart from the actual prize, for me the real win is that the artists that judged my art are some of my most favourites in all DA; I've been appreciating their art long before creating this account and I'm SO happy they liked my drawing and they have given such a high total score!
I would've loved to read their personal opinion about the piece, but I guess it doesn't get better than this. But man, I'm hella ok with it either way.

This is my entry for the "VS Vahirom" Contest by

Glad I made it on time, since the contest is going to end on the 17th!

The task was to draw ANY character encountering Vahirom (which is her own take on the Original Dragon).

Vahirom has a unique design, and it's the most detailed portray of the Pokémon that generated Reshiram and Zekrom that I've ever seen. So I really wanted to draw it anyway, making some good fanart. The contest happened at the right time!

So, even if the characters that encountered Vahirom could have been of any kind, even OCs, I went with the two twin kings of her universe.

In this scene in particular, they're fighting eachother, as the legend says. This is the great war in which Reshiram and Zekrom appeared and helped the White King and the Black King, respectively.
The soldiers in the background, which are from the same house (Harmonia), are fighting eachother.

I figured this is the moment when Vahirom, who's angry because its two protecteds are fighting eachother, arrived on the scene and made the two stop the quarrel, but only temporarily. Torn by their hatred and not capable to choose which of the two it should side with, Vahirom decides to split himself into two new dragons, so he can help both.

Or that's how I figured the scene, at least.

I've also painted a red sky, referencing the prologue of the Nuzlocke comic! La la la la

But my take is not in Sugimori's style, not one bit. XD

I went with a realistic wibe, so Vahirom would look even more fearsome. Hope it's okay if I took some liberty with this adaptation and all the realistic bits I've put here and there, to make it not look too "fake", let's say.
