These three beautiful grannies are quite famous and also feared characters in Greek mythology. Although I think we mortals know them especially thanks to Disney's Hercules: they are the Fates.

Even though they're referred to as the Moirai, they're more commonly known as the fates.
They're very ancient deities, and they're all daughters of the primordial Gods Nyx (Night) and Erebus (Darkness). Which also makes them sisters to Eris and the Furies (in some versions).

The Moirai had the task of measuring the lifetime of a mortal being, using their tools on a thread; each thread corresponded to a human life.
From left to right you can see Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos.
The first one on the left is Clotho, the spinner: she spun the thread from her Distaff (which is the long thingy she keeps on her shoulder) onto the Spindle (which is the little object she has on her left hand). She had the power of deciding if or when a person could be born, but she could decide whenever a god could be born, too.
The one in the middle is Lachesis, the drawer of lots: she measured each thread with her Measuring rod (which is on the floor). She decided how long a person or being was supposed to live, and some say she also determined what happened to each soul after death.
Last of the three, on the far right is Atropos, the cutter: her name means "inevitable", and she had the power of deciding when and how to end someone's life. She cut the thread with her metal Shears.

These three goddesses may seem very mild and defenseless old ladies, on the contrary though they're very powerful beings. Both mortals and Gods fear them, even Zeus is very much scared of them, because they're surely more powerful than him.
That's why I wanted to draw three perfectly normal and chill nannies, because they don't have a care in the world. ;)
They look very calm, and also pretty bored, while they handle chunks of thread.

Well, I hope you like them! :D
